Christmas 2009

This year I opted to have a very low-key Christmas... Mainly because Mommy is on the verge of losing her sanity due to the disarray of the new house. You see as calculated as I had planned the big move to be it was anything but. The new house was 90% complete when the movers dropped all of the furniture off in the garage... Did I mention my sick obsession for enormous furniture? That bites me in the butt every time we move, A friend mentioned wow, Jenni every time I come here your stuff gets bulkier. Ya so basically everything was piled in the garage for 2 weeks, while I slowly and meticulously put it in its place. Any who enough of my moving woe's..... On to Christmas facts.........My mom had to work Christmas day (Thanks to Gov Arnie and California's financial mess) my Sister's Hubs was working at the fire station this year, so it was just Mom & Dad, me, Brett, Riley and my Sister. I cooked, my sis handled desserts, Riley set the table and we ate when my Mom got home @ 330. It was the most stress free Christmas in history!
Christmas morning Riley was up at 530 AM, she usually sleeps until 8... Ehhh I hate when shes up early, I am so not a morning person! First present she noticed was the Persian Kitten that Santa named Gizmo. (Hey, Riley wanted to name him eyelash)

Gizmo, her new smashed face kitty, as she described to everyone that called that morning. I love how she tells the story.. Once upon a time, I wanted a kitty... I was good, so Santa poked him down the chimney.. AND I got a tendo DS ....The end! The she unwrapped a "tendo DS" Just like she always wanted..LOL I'd like to thank my Bro in Law for introducing her to the magic of Mobile video games. As if the Ipod touch wasn't enough now I have to make sure I have the charger for this little gem too!

Here is Riley telling me that her new spongey-bob watch says its time to go open presents at Grandma & Grandpas house. A 7AM, after all the tissue paper was claned up we enjoyed the baked treats from her easy bake oven... Not so yummy but I ate em with a smile.

Oh look Gizzy feels right at home!
Its OK Gizz don't get up Ill use the other computer...

This is Riley and Bubba crashed out on the old couch for the last time....... Because Santa delivered Mommy all new furniture YEHHH. And the biggest thing Daddy got was a PlayStation 3... Hmmm must have been on the naughty list!
So the next pic's you will see is the new living room with stuff on the walls.. I've just been waiting for furniture placement. Yeh almost done.

Thanksgiving... a month late

What a surprize....... Thanksgiving traffic! It lasted for about an hour then we were moving again... Next stop Havasu Landing CA for Thanksgiving week.

Its November right?? Someone remind this kid the water is way to cold... She had her swim suit out of the bag before we pulled up in the driveway.

"Come on in mommy, the water is fine"

"Naw, mommy is going to sit here in her sweats with hot coco, you go ahead Riley!"Grandpa gave my old quad a tune-up and a new set of tires. (Looks brand new) I seriously can not believe he kept it, it must be 20+ years old.. Riley loved it.

And so the Poker Run begins........... Seven "official card stops" scattered along a 10 mile trail, who ever get the best hand wins! Riley rode in the jeep with my sis and some friends.

My Dad and his BFF of 30+ years (true rednecks)

Group shot of all the cars at "drink stop #1"

Me & Riley on top of fire rock "drink stop # 9"
Bravely watching Mamas cooler........Filled with sodas and juice boxes, I swear!
My sis demonstrating proper use of the mobile port-o-potty. Because I don't pee in the dirt!
Odd= Grown man wearing a metal helmet holding a spider. A former Chino resident, now a local.
Patiently waiting to see who won .....Our group won longest time 4 hours 56 mins to go 10 miles. A personal best for me.
I had an amazing time with my parents, sis and Riley.... Just like old times!

RIP 4Runner

After years of faithful boat launching service and 100's of drunk'in debauchery missions in the desert; the 4runner's poor little motor couldnt take any more and blew up. Ahhh the memories (sniff sniff). She will ride again, once we get the motor rebuilt but no time for that. Thanksgiving weekend was fast approaching and we needed a replacement ASAP! No way was Riley missing the Poker run! So I spent and entire weekend driving around with my dad to find this Lil' beauty..... She an automatic, no more stick shift BS.. Do you know how hard it is to drive and hold your cup at the same time???? While I was having fun with Grandpa (mapping out every stop via my phone), Riley got to go to Kiddo Jail AKA Chino Youth Museum with her teacher Miss K.

Been a busy girl.

Riley got the Ipod touch.... it is soooo cool. She has managed to downWoad all kinds of games, it keeps her occupied while we................
Work on our new one of these (house) AKA 666 Lots-o-work Lane, Chino, CA .

All the drywall work is complete. The next task is my least favorite of all... painting!

On a happier note. I have this sick obsession with wood floors but due to the fact that I own the worst dogs in the world and have 1 water crazed kid, it was always just a dream. Until now, I found ceramic tile that looks like real wood (it comes in plank sized pieces with wood grain and all). I know its probably been around for a while... Give me a break I'm a sheltered girl, but Ohhhh so happy to have it in my life now.

Step #568- choose carpet for the bedrooms. (to be continued)

Moving, decorating and battling with Miss Riley

I have been busy the last few weeks with work, Riley and planning the big move.... Well not really a big move its just down the street. However; this move will be much better than the last one 2 years ago, which left a sour taste in my mouth. I hate change and I truley hate moving. First we can take our time... get all the improvements done now and move 1 room at a time.. The second reason this will be a better move than the last............ I wont be living out of an RV in front of my parents house for two weeks because our other house closed and "I" couldn't find a home I was happy with. Me, Riley and 3 dogs, two weeks in an RV (not fun)... luckily "B" was in Vegas for SEAMA. Did I mention I had to move the RV every 72 hours to avoid the city ticket! Argh..

Any who I'm looking forward to the GIANT back yard (more pets?), 12' block walls all the way around and the best part not being surrounded by 2-story neighbors. No one to complain that my frogs are in their pool again (what nerve)... No more listening to the neighbors dog bark from 8 to 9 every morning. HELLO to privacy and the sweet sound of birds chipping. Oh gosh I cant wait!

So now I'm choosing paint colors and flooring... Going to try wood floors and some carpet. I will probably regret this decision because of the dogs but I'm so tired of tile. It is looking like the week after Thanksgiving will be the official move-in, because I'm not going to forfeit the annual poker run and Thanksgiving dinner in Havasu.

Ohhh and Riley has some serious opinions of the decor of her new room. She wants animals painted on the walls with matching animal curtains and bedspread. I tried to sway her towards zebra print with lime green or hot pink accents... She wont have it, so I'm sure she will have the most hideous room ever. But hey whatever makes her happy.. Right?

The fairy, the dog and the pumpkins

Riley was a fairy this year........

This is the first year she would even touch a pumpkin. Last year and the year before she sat nearby gagging from the '"horrible, slimy, stinky, gloppy pumpkin guts."

Proof that a bulldog will eat anything... Pumpkin carving 2009

Bianca Update

Tomorrow is little Bianca's 4Th birthday and I am happy to say she is home! (well at grandmas house where she can have 24 hour care) Her eyes are badly crossed, her vision maybe impaired and she lost hearing in one ear and partial hearing in the other. Her jaw was fractured but she is alive and thriving. Although she isn't putting complete sentences together, she has come so far from that Thursday night when her lifeless little body was airlifted to Loma Linda. We hope to see her in school as soon as she feels up to it.

:( :( :(

Bianca, the little girl to the left of Riley in the pink shirt, is Riley's preschool BFF. She is the sweetest little girl and it is truly a blessing to know her.... I love to listen to Riley recap all the things her and Bianca talked about and played at school for the day. I was heartbroken to learn Friday morning, that the night before Bianca was reaching to turn on the TV and it fell off of the dresser and smashed her to the ground. I believe it was a large TV (not a flat screen). Her mom heard a crash and ran in the room and found her covered in blood, nearly unrecognizable. The lifeless 4 year old was air lifted to Loma Linda were she remains in a coma. Bianca is hooked to breathing machines and it has been determined that if she survives she will not be brain dead; however, she will be deaf and possibly blind.

My heart aches for her family, I cant even fathom what they are going through. I'm going to get to work on sewing a special blanket for her and Kiddie Korner Preschool is going to start a donation jar on Monday. Other than that I feel so helpless... :(

Got hula?

My Grand parents head stone was finally installed... sheesh it only took a month and a half. OK well maybe I was a little impatient but for some reason it bothered me that there wasn't a marker at their grave site for so long. It looks so strange, because every week since 02 there was always just one name.... sadly now there is two.
On a happier note I had a girls night in... My Friend Laura came by for some wine and hula hooping. Well alota wine and yaaaaaa hula hooping. I was like 10 the last time I hula-ed. So there we are enjoying food and drink and Laura busts out her latest fitness class idea.... hula hooping. Laura is a personal trainer, her energy level and motivation makes me wanna throw up.... but I respect her because she was at one time over weight, but she found the inspiration to become physically fit.
I admit it was fun. These hula hoops aren't the walmart cheap-o with the little bead rollin around inside, OH no this was a heavier "professional" version.. if there is such a thing. It was comfortable and super easy. We had some Michael turned up loud, laughing until our sides hurt, I could so do that for an hour. I was tempted to wake Riley, she would have loved it.

So there you have it I'll be hula hoopin in the living room until classes come to the Chino Hills area real soon.

Tom's Farms Fun

This little girl and I spent the day at Tom's Farm....... 101 outside and she wants to shop for pumpkins. The farm has a cool little fun zone, petting zoo, pony rides, train rides and what else PUMPKINS... During the train ride they stage a mock robbery with an old west shoot out.... It was interesting ridding around with a train full of screaming scared kids. A little warning about the gun shots would have been nice; I'm just saying......

We had lunch @ Senor Tom's
OHHH the petting zoo, I don't think you understand my love for miniature farm animals... Riley didn't know goats were available in this size.... and she wants one. Daddy says no goat.. How about one of these little pigs? Pink or Black??? oh the decisions!
And you cant visit the farm without stopping at The Candy Shoppe.... They have the best salt water taffy.

Other than the heat no complaints, we had a fun day for less than $100. So go check it out!

Girls weekend

While Daddy is away, his girls will play, and spend his money!
This little girl & I got mani's and pedi's together as we normally do; however, this outing was different... Riley informed me that she thinks I'm an awesome mommy, and because of me she wants to be a mommy and a Veterinarian... Then she told me the names of my future grand children. Boy= Harold..... Girl= Eyelash.... I'm so excited.. lol

Sunday we went to a memorial gathering for my BFF's aunt Gail, who passed away a few weeks ago. Lynn read a really soothing passage from the bible and we all released a purple balloon in Gail's honor. It was touching. I would have more pictures but my memory card was at home in the computer and my camera only holds 5 pics without it.. sooo booo hooo. As you can see, my one shot at a pic and Riley was more focused on the cake not the camera, she didn't want to miss out on that butter cream frosting.

Have a delightful week!

Yeh October!

I cant believe it's October already! October is my favorite month, I love the weather, the colors and HALLOWEEN. Check out Riley in her "Harvest shirt" she goes to a religious preschool so its not Halloween its "Harvest" SUX! No bats, ghosts, witches, spiders or pumpkins with faces..oops bet I get a note for this shirt. Any who no mention of skull and cross bones... weird.

I got a new Tortoise, her name is Tootsie. She was in the middle of the road on the way home from the lake... slight shell damage SO who knows what happened to the poor thing. We tried to put her off to either side of the road but she kept heading for the road again. Which just proves shes retarded and that is the only qualification required to be a pet in my home.

Big Mama (Tank 10 yr old) Daddy (Lumpy 10 yr old) both are African leopard tortoise and then there is lil Tootsie (my guess 2 yr old) A CA Desert Tortoise... I am in the process of getting her registered and yes, I am aware of the $5000 fine for removing her from the desert; however, here are exceptions to that law. Sorry for the crappy picture but for tortoise they move surprisingly fast.

We went mini golfing for my niece's 12Th birthday, again sorry for the crappy pictures. I felt like a pack mule: Riley's drink, my big purse, camera, my club and ball.... you cant expect me to get one good shot. I think I should stick with landscape photography... at least it stays in place.
Showing her Dad a few tricks.........

Almost ready to ride a real bike. I cant wait... seriously I cant wait to get a shot of that!

Vroommmmmm..... Vroom
