1 and Done?

The other day I was sitting on the couch watching Bridezillas (its a ridiculous show but entertaining) So I called my sis for the 5Th time that day... I continued to harass her about how she was borderline a Bridezilla (she getting hitched in Oct) She fired back claiming that I show tendencies of a potential animal hoarder. (To this I say aronious!) We bicker for a few minutes and then hang up.

It occurred to me that we talk multiple times a day and see each other at least 3 times a week. Then it hits me how much I love my sister, even if she is a pain in the ass sometimes. I seriously cant go a day without talking to her. We are close like butt cheeks!
Teary eyed, I call her back and tell her Riley doesn't have a butt cheek. For so long I was content with just one kid but now............. I feel this urge to create a BFF for Riley.. Is that a selfish reason to want baby #2? Well, that and I love fresh baby smell.

That is all my sis needed to hear, you see she works NIC unit and has a serious case of baby fever... She wanted me to get working on #2 that night... but that would mean I would be huge for her wedding and I would have to see the pictures of my fatness for the rest of my life. EWwwww, so sadly we had to delay operation fetus implantation. My Sissy mentions again that she is getting married in Oct with plans for baby right away. (told ya she was a bridezilla everything revolves around this wedding)
Sooo our plan was hatched. We want to become prego together around November-ish. I just gotta clear it with the man and we are good to go. Thanks Mino for being the very best sister and friend ever.

1st hair cut

Riley has been begging me to cut her hair the last few weeks. So finally I had enough and took her to my hair dressers house. Who/whom (?) also happens to be my BFF since H.S. Riley is accustomed to going to Lynn's house to "paint" Mommy's hair once a month but this time she got to sit in the chair! She was so excited... me not so much. Yes, her hair is a pain every AM but its so long and pretty why would you want to cut it? Any who I gave the approval and Lynn started snipping.

Valentines day___ a week late

... but what do you expect from me?
I was busy partying my tush off with my favorite preschoolers. I helped out with Riley's little school party. Cupcakes, cookies, candy and sprite as far as the eye could see and all before 11AM.... Fantastic, but you only live once!
It was humorous to watch 4 and half year olds grasp the concept of Valentine cards (on a sugar high).... and after all that sugar there were a few meltdowns. (Riley being one of them)

From there it was off to the store to pick up the ingredients for my 5Th annul Valentine's Family Dinner. Since Riley has been born we have had a dinner at home on V-Day....I thinks its improtant to include kids, V-day shouldnt just be for lovers... So I invite our friends who are single, who's partner is out of town or whoever ...you get the point, because no one wants to be alone on such a couples day/night?

It was delish!!! The best part Riley helped me with everything: decorating, cleaning & cooking. She just loves to cook! Our friends appreciated the good times and home made. We had a fantastic night! Can't wait for next year.

I'm feeling a little sick today. I'm sure it has nothing to do with this little snot nose and the petri dish of germs that she spends 3 days a week in... AKA pre-school.

January was a blurrrrrrrrr

January was just a flurry of activity. I thought it was suppose to slow down after the holidays? Not!!!!!
I was busy getting tax info and year end crap in order in addition to: Monster truckin, wedding planning (Did I mention its going to be held in my back yard) lots-o-yard workin, my big 30 birthday, and house remodeling.

My sister is getting married in Oct, so she dragged me and her poor little niece to all kinds of wedding expo's... love the cakes samples/ dislike the pushy bridezillas

Riley was such a good sport.

I helped out in class a few times a week. Bianca is back, so Riley is super excited to have her BFF back in class.

My sissy made me a very special ice cream treat.... I said I wanted an ice cream CAKE..... not Co@k. However hideous it was delish.

She just loves monster trucks!

6 months ago.....

6 months ago today, my grandma passed away.... Sometimes it feels like and eternity ago and other times it feels like yesterday. This is Helga's first time holding her first and only great grand baby. (July 13Th, 2005 3 days old)

I feel her presence more than ever these days... I remember every detail as she took her last breaths in his world. I remember the chill in the room at 10:36, being 3 minutes and 8 seconds into Baba O' Riley, just finished reading page 577 of Mein Kampf, right after my Moms 3 trip to pee, the texts to my sis, the wall off tears that followed and the images that will forever be burned in memory...
I knew she wouldn't be here forever but we all had hoped for a little longer...

Wordless Wednenday

Riley's new condo

Riley mentioned to her daddy that she would enjoy a play house... We certainly have the the room in the back yard and daddy has the skills soooo, 3 days later this is what daddy built, complete with interior and exterior electricity.
Riley just loves it and adores her dad even more for building it.
This thing has everything custom curtains (sewed my me) carpet, heater, dutch door and the cutest little furniture ever.

Casa De La Riley is located a few feet from the master bedroom slider so I'm comfortable with her being out there alone..... I assumed that's why it was built in that location. (thus sacrificing forfeiting the optimal location for the future Jacuzzi) No no its there because she can still get wireless internet from the house. Daddy is such a thinker! LOL

.... OH well having 120 square feet of additional space to store toys and a happy child is worth the sacrifice!

Offically 30 Days into 30...

... And it didn’t hurt at all!

I thought that kissing my twenties good-bye would be slightly painful, but it has been good. (So far) I loved my twenties with all of its uncertainties, ups & downs. Had some crazy fun times thats for sure!... but I am soooo looking forward to the security and stability my thirties will bring.

NOW 40’s I could get a lil' suicidal... I'll cross that bridge when I get there!

My twenties were awesome, I floundered though selfishly, finding "me", spending money like water, eating, drinking like a fish, laughing until it hurt.  Then BAM... right in the middle I discovered what it was all about... well, shortly after 2 pink lines appeared. LOL. I found the deepest love of all on 7/10/05.

Some days I felt like an old lady, others I felt much too young to have this much responsibility. My life has changed drastically over the last 10 years... for the good (I think know). As for my thirties, I'm looking forward to watching kids grow, thankful for financial security and blessed with an awesome amount of stability.

Laundry made easy

I tried Purex complete..... And I LOVE it! Just throw one in sheet per load of laundry. It's so easy and mess free. The clothes smell good and it works well with High Efficiency washer and dryers (AKA special soap spend more $$$ machines) I was spending Approx 18 cents per load; this is 20 cents per load. The best part Riley can help with laundry without making a mess...

Merlin the hummingbird

What is the highlight of my morning?

Well, many things but one of my favorites is...

Catching a glimpse of little Merlin. (my backyard pet hummingbird) Yep, every morning I look out the sliding glass door in my bathroom and watch in awe while he sips nectar flawlessly.

I have always shared my love of hummingbirds with my Grandma who passed away last August. Its no coincidence that "Merlin" started visiting me shortly after. Ever since I have been planting Hummingbird friendly flowers, in hopes of attracting more HB's; so far no such luck.

Hummingbird facts:

• The hummingbird is the smallest bird and also the smallest of all animals that have a backbone
• They have no sense of smell
• Because they can rotate their wings in a circle, they are the only bird that can fly forwards, backwards, up, down ,sideways and hover in mid air
• During migration, some hummingbirds make a non-stop 500 mile flight over the Gulf of Mexico
• They are the second largest family of birds with 343 species
• Their heart rate can reach up to 1,260 beats per minute
  

Private or not?

I'm still alive I....promise. Just sitting here, pondering taking this blog private. There has been some creepy stalker stuff going on. Its just taking all the fun out of blogging. The whole point of this blog was, so that my relatives in Germany could see what my daughter has been up to. ... and now thanks to some idiot, I second guess every picture I post. I admit I stalk a few blogs...but I post nice comments with my email, this idiot in question will only post anonymous comments... to that I say what a wussy!
